Where to find us

WE GOT A SPACE!

You can find us at 1314 Douglas Street! It’s street level and wheelchair accessible. We’re super excited to finally have our own place as of December 2021, where we can connect face-to-face with folks.

NOTE THAT IHRT IS CLOSING AS OF MAY 31, 2023 and we won’t be running programs in our downtown space or out in community after this time. For more info on our closure see our May 17 open letter to community.

To help prevent COVID we encourage everyone to wear a mask if they can, and practice physical distancing. We have masks and hand sanitizer on-site.

When We’re Open

NOTE THAT IHRT IS CLOSING AS OF MAY 31, 2023 and we won’t be running programs in our downtown space or out in community after this time.

The last day people can access IHRT is Tuesday, May 30, 2023. For more info on our closure see our May 17 open letter to community.

Monday – Friday Art Studio: Indigenous-only space, priority for Indigenous “street community” members who are criminalized for drug or alcohol use. You do NOT have to be sober. These days & hours include access to the art studio space, art supplies, and an art helper / mentor who can help you with art questions.

  • 10 am – 4 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays (closed Wednesdays & Thursdays)

Weekends: Studio + gallery. During these times the studio is still open so you can still work on your art if you want, but it’s also open gallery time where the general public can come check out art that’s available for sale, so it’s not Indigenous-only space. At this point there are no art helpers / mentors on the weekends.

  • 11 am – 4 pm Saturdays (closed Sundays)

Circles, workshops, groups, and other events!

As COVID regulations scaled back we started to hold circles, workshops, and groups for Indigenous people. Upcoming events are listed in the calendar below. All programs are ending on May 30, 2023. COVID safety measures are in effect including masks available at the door for people who can wear them. No pre-registration, just come if you can. Each circle / workshop / group is limited to 10 people and priority is for people who use substances (if you want a spot saved, please talk with us ahead of time). You do NOT have to be sober.
